Isle of Man Archery Club member Lesley Sleight has become the Ladies American Flatbow British Field Archery Champion 2016. At the weekend over 170 archers competed at the all British and Open Field Archery Championships held in Antrim, Northern Ireland.
The Championships was shot over 24 target unmarked and marked courses, to World Archery tournament rules. Lesley achieved her first Grand Master Bowman score of the season and added 8 points to her personal best score on the unmarked course.
Rodger Sleight competing in the Mens Traditional Class also shot well adding over 20 points to his personal best scores on both marked and unmarked courses. The shoot was over a variety of terrain including two lakes, gardens and woodlands set in the picturesque grounds of Greenmount College.
