Manx charity Junior Achievement is pleased to welcome four new members to the board: Erica Bellhouse, David Hester, Tracey Leahy and Gail Yeowell.
Erica Bellhouse is a director of Moores Management and Finance Limited. She said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed to the Junior Achievement board having volunteered for the charity on a number of occasions in recent years. In an ever-changing, competitive world, I hope to be able to work with other board members and the JA team to encourage and develop the Island’s entrepreneurial talent for the future.’
Swagelock general manager David Hester said: ‘As a fast-growing business in the manufacturing sector, we are very aware of the need to attract and prepare our young people to support this growth. We are very proud to be associated with the valuable work of Junior Achievement and I look forward to working with my fellow board members and playing my part in helping young people to become “work ready” and realise their full potential.’
Of her involvement with Junior Achievement MannVend’s managing director Tracey Leahy said: ‘I am thrilled to have joined the board of Junior Achievement, a wonderful third-sector organisation helping to prepare young people for the world of work. It has been fascinating to learn about the programmes that are being delivered in schools and to see the impact they have on the students.’
SmartHR Solutions’ managing director Gail Yeowell said: ‘I was delighted to be asked to join the board of Junior Achievement. Having been a supporter of JA for the past few years, I am very much looking forward to working with the other directors and the JA team to continue the great work that has been achieved to date.’
Junior Achievement chief executive Sue Cook said: ‘Our work is about preparing young people for the real world of work and equipping them with the skills and confidence they will need in an increasingly competitive jobs market. Junior Achievement’s board members contribute an invaluable wealth of diverse experience and insight; this not only shapes our work in schools but also determines our long-term strategy to transform young people’s career and life choices. It’s against this background that I’m delighted to welcome David, Erica, Gail and Tracey to the board.’
