End of telecoms line for Sir Miles Walker
A former chief minister is stepping down from an Island telecoms board after more than a decade.
Sir Miles Walker has spent 13 years with Manx Telecom having first been appointed as a non-executive director in 2003.
From June 2010 he served as chairman until the firm became an AIM-listed Plc in February 2014.
Sir Miles has announced he will formally leave at MT's annual general meeting next month.
The company's former managing director Chris Hall is to join the board as an independent non-executive director.
Mr Hall led MT for 12 years from 2009-2011 and has since developed a portfolio of business interests, including directorships at AXA Isle of Man and ManSat Ltd.
Gary Lamb Manx Telecom CEO said: "During his many years of service to Manx Telecom, Sir Miles's advice and counsel has played a significant part in making the company the success it is today.
Chris's knowledge of both the telecoms sector and the wider business scene will be valuable to the company as we move forward."
