MT warning over scam

Credible copy of website built

Manx Telecom is warning about an online scam which is targeting its customers.

People have reported emails being sent to them asking them to log in to their accounts on the MT website to upate their billing information.

However, the messages and the website people are sent to when they click on the link are fake.

The company says those behind the scam have built a credible copy of the Manx Telecom website, which is being used to harvest their usernames and passwords, possibly along with their financial details.

Manx Telecom says if you receive such an email, don’t click the link and delete the email immediately.

Computer Network Defence Ltd is a cyber security firm.
