Enterprise day challenge for pupils

Business skills on timetable at CRHS

Year 8 pupils at Castle Rushen High School will be 'thinking business' today as part of a special challenge to hone their enterprise skills (24  May).

The youngsters will devise a new event or product for a real-life Manx business, before presenting their ideas to the firms themselves.

The 12 and 13-year olds working in teams will design a logo, write a radio advert, script a press release and plan every aspect of the product or event launch.

Local organisations Adventurous Experiences, the One World Centre, Manx Sport and Recreation, Heritage Railways and the Apple Orphanage will form a panel to judge the presentations.

Head of curriculum innovation Laura Williams says it will be a steep learning curve for the pupils:
