Win for Duncalf in scratch match

It's been another full-on week for the Island's shooters.

Mike Duncalf hit first place in the Osborn Carpets First 600 Round 7 - posting a score of 611.6 just hours after returning from a British competition in Surrey.

That placed him just a single point clear of Ashley Gardener (610.6) leaving third place to Andy Traynor on 607.0.

There were commiserations for junior shooter Rhys Keown - an arm injury prevented him from posting more than his first 30, which also counted towards his entry in the Sadler Junior Championship match.

Elsewhere, Sharon Drysdale took a narrow win in the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield event.

A single point separated the newcomer (614) from John 'Doc' Brewis (613), who was trying out a brand new rifle.

Ashley Gardner took third in a field of 10 - being the only shooter to hit a 'full house' in the contest.
