Edgewater Associates announces six appointments as part of growth strategy

Leading independent financial adviser Edgewater Associates has announced six new appointments to its team as it continues to grow its business on the Isle of Man.

Colin Moore joins as Investment Manager/Senior Paraplanner. Colin has over 10 years’ experience in financial services, most recently as Investment Manager at Duncan Lawrie. He holds a Masters in Physics as well as a PhD in Nuclear Physics and brings a keen technical, analytical approach to his role which will focus on providing a holistic advice service.

Bryan O’Connor has been appointed General Insurance Consultant and is one of the few insurance professionals in the British Isles to hold the London Market Insurance Specialism qualification. After starting his career in banking, Bryan has worked for a number of prestigious financial services and insurance companies supporting some of the Island’s largest business clients. He also served as President of the Isle of Man Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) from 2015 to 2016.

He will be responsible for looking after the insurance needs of both personal and commercial clients at Edgewater Associates, as well as specialising in insuring assets for offshore trust structures, property and non-standard risks.

Kim Fleming takes up the role of Senior Client Manager. Originally from Zimbabwe, Kim was educated in South Africa and began her career there in an HR role before moving into financial services with Zurich International. Following an opportunity to join the European Sales team in a business development capacity, Kim then joined a UK IFA company, AES, where she created a dual hub network between the London and Dubai teams. During her time with AES, the company grew from a small IFA firm into one of the top 50 UK distributors by size.

Kim will support Edgewater Associates’ Client Manager team and is also tasked with reviewing systems and reporting functions to ensure business objectives are met as efficiently as possible.

Also supporting the client team is Charlotte Urgias who has been recruited as Client Manager. Charlotte, who gained a degree in French and Italian from Exeter University, has previously worked as a Corporate and Legal Administrator, as well as a Trust Officer, at Wilton. In her new role Charlotte will focus on corporate schemes.

Meanwhile Samantha Hall, who joined Edgewater Associates from school last year after successfully completing her GCSEs, has already passed two financial planning exams and holds the position of Junior Client Manager. Sam Trinder joins the team as Administrator / Receptionist.
