Isle of Man Success at top e-Gaming Industry Awards

A number of Isle of Man e-Gaming companies were winners at the prestigious 2016 B2B Awards and Marketing and Innovation Awards by eGaming Review Magazine (EGR) last week (1st June).

The Isle of Man winners included Playtech, Microgaming, Continent 8 Technologies, PokerStars, BetStars and KPMG Isle of Man.

Alfred Cannan MHK, the Department Member with responsibility for e-Gaming commented:

‘This is a big commendation for the hard work and success of our local e-Gaming sector and the companies excelling in this area. The Awards are an opportunity to recognise the achievements of some of the biggest names in e-Gaming and it’s fantastic to see the Isle of Man so well represented.

‘The e-Gaming sector continues to grow on the Isle of Man, with 4 new licences approved this year and more in the pipeline. Our dedication to encouraging a supportive and business friendly environment is paramount in the continued growth and success of the industry and the future development of new and innovative ideas on the Isle of Man.’

Mark Robson, Head of e-Gaming at the Department of Economic Development, commented:

‘The Isle of Man has shown once again that it has the talent and experience to produce world-class e-Gaming companies and support solutions. The Island offers a number of benefits for e-Gaming firms and as a result we are seeing an increase in new companies moving to the Island as well as current companies looking to expand here.’

The annual EGR B2B Awards celebrate excellence in a range of e-Gaming disciplines, including payments, software and IT. The EGR Operator Marketing and Innovation Awards reward creative operators in the online gaming industry.
