Simcocks has been named a winner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution category of the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards 2016.

The award sets out to champion those companies who have excelled in the corporate finance industry.

Director and head of the department, Christopher Arrowsmith said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award in recognition of the experience and expertise of our team and the work they have put in over the past 12 months. We aim to be easy and straight forward people to deal with and we always seek to find innovative ways of working so we can deliver both legal advice and strategic support to clients in a timely and cost effective way. It is very pleasing to see this being recognised."

Publisher Jake Powers said: "Over the past calendar year we have invited our corporate subscriber base to put forward those who have excelled within the corporate finance industry showing determination to continuously show high performance and success. With more categories and an even greater international spectrum, these awards honour those who standout as consistently showing best practice in every aspect of their work."

Based in Ridgeway Street, Douglas, Simcocks employ more than 40 people and provides an extensive range of legal services broadly grouped into the areas of dispute resolution, corporate and commercial and private client.

The dispute resolution team specialise in international corporate and commercial litigation and has an impressive track record of dealing in high value multi-jurisdictional disputes. Its technical knowledge generates many referrals and it has considerable experience dealing with a range of commercial disputes with particular emphasis on trust and shareholder matters, emergency injunctive and discovery remedies and judicial review applications. Simcocks also advise on human rights issues, financial services and compliance regulatory matters, individual and corporate insolvency, employment, family law, personal injury claims, licensing, planning and disputes relating to property.

This latest accolade follows the 2015 edition of The Legal 500 in which Christopher Arrowsmith, Elizabeth Simpson, Jacqui Owens and Winston Taylor, who are all members of the Dispute Resolution team, were singled out for praise and recommended for their expertise. The department was also named Isle of Man Dispute Resolution Law Firm of the Year in the Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards 2015 which were announced in October last year.
