Zurich International Life (ZIL) will move to new premises in the Isle of Man in late 2017. The international insurance company, which is currently based on Athol Street in Douglas, has commissioned a new-build office on the Isle of Man Business Park on Cooil Road, affirming ZIL’s long-term commitment to the Island.
ZIL has instructed Dandara on this project and both companies are working closely together to deliver a modern, state of the art facility, which will utilise Zurich Group’s Dynamic Working framework.
Work has commenced on the three-storey structure which will become one of the first on the Island to have the prestigious ‘BREEAM’ accreditation. BREEAM, or ‘Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology’, assesses the long-term sustainability of a building and will guide both Dandara and Zurich in making effective and innovative use of resources in their effort to secure a ‘very good’ rating.
The focus on sustainable value and efficiency makes BREEAM certified developments attractive property investments, with their long-term sustainability enhancing the well-being of the employees who work in them.
Clive Baker, CEO of ZIL, commented: “ZIL’s move to new, purpose-built premises on the Isle of Man Business Park confirms our commitment to the Island, and our support for the local economy. We are working with our employees to listen to what they would like to see in their office environment and are excited about delivering this in late 2017.”
Seamus Nugent, Managing Director of Dandara, added: “We are delighted to welcome Zurich International Life to the Isle of Man Business Park and look forward to working with them in delivering a new purpose-designed office suitable for their dynamic, international operations and workforce.”
