More silverware for Nomads against spirited Douglas

Southern Nomads beat Douglas B 31-18 at the Mooragh Park to retain their Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy title.

Two early tries from Jacob Callow, one of which was converted by Mark Young, gave Nomads a flying start.

Liam Kirkpatrick pulled one back for Douglas before Callow’s hat-trick try restored the lead.

Mark Shortland dived in for Douglas just before the break to leave the Nomads lead 19-10 at half time.

Max Morley-Green kicked a penalty early in the second half to further reduce the Nomads lead and, when James Creasey wriggled over the line, Douglas were within a point at 19-18.

However, late tries from man of the match Conor Stephens and Harry Catlow closed the game out for Nomads.
