The Isle of Man Funds Association has today announced its rebranding and change of name to the Isle of Man Wealth & Fund Services Association.
Originally established in 1987 as a trade association to represent the Island’s growing fund administration and fund management industry, the membership and work of the Association has evolved over its twenty nine year history. Today its membership incorporates a wider expanse of the local financial services industry, spanning both wealth management and fund services, as it actively promotes the Island’s wider service offering and seeks to support its local members.
Commenting, Chairman of the Association, Carolyn Gelling, said: “The Association’s Committee has been considering for a short while that a change of name was becoming necessary to reflect its evolving focus. Today the Association’s membership includes fund managers and administrators, as well as corporate service providers, trustees, custodians, stockbrokers, asset and investment managers, life assurance companies, banks and deposit takers, accountants, auditors, tax advisors and advocates. The new name more accurately reflects the Association’s current purpose and will lead to a wider focus within our program of international marketing activity.“
In addition to an active marketing program, the Association also forms a unique industry wide body with a powerful voice to consult with government and regulators for the benefit of local industry and offers training and CPD events for its member firms, with the objective to develop local skills and talent.
The Association will host a Drinks Reception in London this evening (4th May) at which its new logo and name will be unveiled. Spark Impact, the Manager of the Island’s new Enterprise Development Scheme will speak at that event, as well as Karen Badgerow, Chief Executive of the Financial Services Authority.
