Isle of Man Population Atlas launched today

by isleofman.com 15th April 2016
A visually stunning new book on the population of the Isle of Man is published today. The ‘Isle of Man Population Atlas’ contains 130
maps and graphs and focuses on the population issues that we face as an island community in 2016:

• a shift from population growth to decline
• the emigration of young adults
• a sharp reversal in the number of births
• a reduced working population and
• a population that is ageing

Author Paul Craine, says: “Securing the future of the Isle of Man is not just about attracting inward investment. There is more to it than that. The influence that population exerts on the economy of islands is very powerful. There are some clear changes in  population trends in the Isle of Man and I hope that the Atlas will raise awareness of the issues involved. Anyone who enjoys looking at maps and graphs will love this book. Everyone interested in the Isle of Man should read this book.”

By the end of today the book will be available in The Lexicon and The Book Company in Douglas, St Paul’s Bookshop in Ramsey and The Bridge Bookshop in Port Erin priced at ?15.00.
