Exemptions aim to help e-business and ICT

A relaxation of work permit requirements for the Island's e-gaming sector came into effect at the start of this month.

The measure was approved by Tynwald after e-business companies said they were experiencing problems recruiting qualified workers.

The exemption, aimed at skilled, qualified or experienced workers offered a salary of no less than ?25,000, also applies to potential recruits for ICT businesses.

Associate advocate at Gough Law Chiva Arthurs told Howard Caine the move is designed to help grow a vital part of the Manx economy:
