Private bank renews Island commitment

Firm refreshes traditional image

Private bank Duncan Lawrie is shaking off its traditional low profile to celebrate the firm's 30 year operation in the Isle of Man.

The anniversary has been marked with two senior appointments, an appeal to potential new local customers - and rejection of the 'fat cat' image.

Managing director Sue Preskey says the bank is no longer designed 'only for ultra-high net worth market' and is now targeting people seeking traditional banking values 'with a reasonable sum to deposit or invest.'

Nigel Bolt, who has worked in the private banking sector for more than 20 years, joins the board as private client director.

Ms Preskey, a former director at Thomas Miller Investment and previously with financial services regulator the FSC (now FSA) said: "..we are now one of the last businesses to offer a wholly local service where our bankers, investment managers and fiduciary specialists collectively work under one roof."
