IFA toasts progression in changing times

Island independent financial advice specialist Edgewater Associates has spelled out its vision for future development, as the firm celebrates 20 years in business.

The company started as a two-man band in 1996 offering mainly mortgage advice.

It now employs 16 staff and has 4,500 personal and corporate clients on its books, offering a range of products and services from wealth management and savings plans to income protection and pensions. 

Celebrating the landmark anniversary at Edgewater's new Victoria Street offices in Douglas, Managing Director Sandra Cardwell said 20 years was a long time in an industry which is constantly changing - and paid tribute to staff for making the company 'a progressive' IFA.

She said the firm would continue to develop its staff, strengthen ties with partners and regulators, and consider all opportunities to further develop the business.

Ms Cardwell said demand for financial advice has continued through good and bad economic times - but clients' own knowledge of the marketplace has grown rapidly, partly as a result of the internet:
