Vagas slip to fifth

Douglas were beaten 26-13 away at Liverpool St Helens in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One as the home side continued their promotion chase on Saturday.

Ben Webb and Craig McGee both crossed for Douglas tries with the ever reliable boot of Bryn Snellgrove adding a penalty.

In Cheshire South, Ramsey were handed a salutary lesson at Oswestry.

They were beaten 79-5 by the high flying Eagles who completed a league double over the northerners to consolidate second place in the standings.

Ali Trace's try for Ramsey provided the only chink of light on an otherwise dark day.

A battered and bruised Vagabonds were beaten 29-15 at Marple in their encounter.

James Clarke and Ste Gawne both went in for Vagabonds' tries with Josh Carine adding a penalty and a conversion.

The result sees Vagas drop from fourth to fifth as Marple leapfrog them with the bonus point win.
