Armstrong capitalises on Deakes' injury

Nigel takes 20 mile honours

Nigel Armstrong won the Leinster Management 20 Mile road race around the NSC perimeter road on Sunday morning, organised by the IoM Veteran Athletes’ Club.

On the same lap as Armstrong were Paul Condon and Richard Gerrard.

Kevin Deakes had led from the start but had to retire three miles from the finish with a calf muscle pull.

Helen Taylor set a personal best as she secured victory in the women's race.
