Royal and Peel maintain title charge

Smalley and Shimmin in prolific form

In the Regency Travel sponsored women’s league, both Peel and Douglas Royal registered impressive wins on Sunday to maintain the title challenge.

Peel clocked up an 11-0 win over Colby.

Maxine Smalley (four), Chloe Gale (three), Emily Jones (two), Alice Henderson and Emma Nudd were on target for the westerners.

Elsewhere, Royal chalked up the biggest win of the afternoon, defeating newcomers Douglas Athletic 13-0.

Leading 9-0 at the break, Donna Shimmin (three), Rebecca Cole (three), Ceri Purvis (two), Becci Pate (two), Zoe Hawley (two) and Bekkie Colquitt scored for the Whites.

The Gymns v Corinthians match was scratched as the Tromode side was unable to field a team.
