50 targets hit at Meary Veg

Thirty years on from winning gold at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Nigel Kelly shot perfectly at Meary Veg on Sunday.

In near ideal conditions at Santon, Kelly hit all 50 targets in the first round of the Olympic Skeet League.

Nigel finished seven points ahead of second-placed Stan Cross with James Bradley third on 41.

He dedicated his win to Mr Cho who performed a cataract operation on him a fortnight ago - as he said - I can see more clearly now!

John Moore was the winner of the first round of the Down the Line League with a score of 49, second was Neil Parsons on 48 ahead of Alan Wade also on 48.

Neil Parsons did register a win in the opening round of the ABT League when he topped the charts on 49.

Second was Mark Riley on 47 and Alan Wade was third on 46.
