I’m sure everyone at Albany will be pleased to welcome our newest and youngest member to the club. Kelso Ryder Hall was born on Tuesday 1st March weighing a hefty 8.92lbs. Kelso will no doubt play with Seren Bufton who was born to David and Jodie Bufton last year. So look out for the under 10 doubles in 2026! Congratulations to Our Social Secretary Kirsten and her husband Lance.
More congratulations – this time to Roch Mirski (11) who not only plays a good standard of tennis but can also sing. In fact he was runner-up in last weekend’s Next Big Thing 2016. Well done Roch from all at Albany.
Hopefully we are starting the re-decoration of the clubhouse this w/end with one of our members, Nerijus, doing most of the work for which we are very grateful. This will cause some disruption in use of the building although most work will be done from 4pm. Access to the clubroom, stairs and ladies changing may be restricted. It would help if most members make use of the toilet/changing for the disabled whilst work is in progress. When the painting is complete new flooring will be laid and members co-operation with both tasks would be appreciated. Thank you.
Preparations for the dinner in October are well under way as well as the Tombola which will offer cash prizes as well as champagne, wine, chocolates, vouchers and a food hamper. Members will all be asked to sell one book of 10 tickets though you can sell more and offers of donation of a prize will be gratefully accepted, otherwise they will be provided from club funds.
Members will be sent a newsletter on both events in the next week.
The trophies for the club championships will be presented at the dinner.
Now to on court – Jackie Russell is wanting names of all those who want to play in the summer leagues – men and women. Please let Jackie know asap if you are interested as this governs how many Albany/ Auxesia teams are entered
