New headteacher for Ashley Hill Primary School

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2016
Ashley Hill Primary School will have a new headteacher from September.

Peter Lewis is returning to the school where he started his teaching career 11 years ago. He is currently deputy headteacher at St John’s Primary.

He takes over from Karen Riordan, who has been appointed to the Department of Education and Children’s Education Improvement Service.

Originally from Wales, Mr Lewis graduated in politics from the University of Warwick and completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Education there, too.

He said: ‘I am delighted to take up the headship at Ashley Hill, joining a talented group of staff. I look forward to getting to know the children, parents, staff and local community.

‘I have had the great privilege of working alongside fantastic staff at St John’s School for the last eight years and will, of course, be sad to leave.’

Mr Lewis is married with two children and is a keen sports fan who loves the outdoors.
