IOM Archery Club Report - 14th February

by isleofman.com 16th February 2016
The Isle of Man Archery Club met at Onchan on Sunday to shoot a Portsmouth round as part of the Club’s Scratch League. Numbers were down a little, possibly because it was Valentine’s Day but several of the archers were on good form.

Colin Moore had an excellent day in the Gents compound division recording a new pb for the round and taking the win from Pete Mumford by 8 points.

Joy Gough was the only women in the Ladies Compound division and she put in a solid score without any of the errant misses which have been creeping in of late.

Lesley Sleight set yet another Club Record for the Bare bow with a score of 60/511/10.

In the Gents Recurve Josh Trafford was head and shoulders above everyone else. Josh recorded the highest score of the day overall, equalled his pb for the round and finished 52 points ahead of his nearest rival. Dave Berry finished in second place. John Hill and Alex Parkes were tied on a score of 456 but on count back Alex Parkes took third place having 9 golds to John Hill’s 8.

Newcomer Fiona Parkes was the only archer in the Ladies Recurve division. Fiona added 29 points to her pb for the round.
Tilly Ashton was a little down on her best in the Junior Girls Recurve.

Joseph Reaney had an easy win over Jacob Brookes in the Junior Boys Recurve.
