Groves fires champions to the top

Corinthians proved lightning can strike twice, defeating Douglas Royal for the second time in just over a week, again via a 1-0 scoreline.

Fresh from their Floodlit Cup triumph a week earlier, the reigning champions again saw off their arch-rivals, this time in the Regency Travel League.

In a match in which Royal dominated possession, it was Corinthians who walked away with maximum points, thanks to Shannon Groves’ 75th minute strike.

The result sees Corinthians move to the top of the table for the first time this season.
