Paul delivers Perfect 50!

Mihailovits tops Blue Point skeet

Island Games shooter Paul Mihailovits shot a perfect 50 to take the win in the fifth and final round of the Ayre Clay Target Club’s winter English Skeet league at Blue Point on Sunday.

The standard was high as Jeff Corkill shot 49 to finish just one behind with Kevin Oates, Marty Kneen and Steve Brew joint third on 47.

In bright sunny conditions, 21 shooters took part in the event, kindly sponsored by Paul’s Gunstocks.

Results:

A Class: 1. Paul Mihailovits 50, 2, Jeff Corkill 49; 3= Martin Kneen and Kevin Oates 47.

B Class: 1, Steve Brew 47; 2= Jack Kneen and Martin Malone 45.

C Class: 1=, Phil Butler and Ben Richards 45; 3, Fred Waggett 42.

Meanwhile, the fifth and final round of the Cu Plas Callow Winter series DTL league was held at Meary Veg in Santon with 25 competitors taking part.

Alan Wade (140) won the A class, also taking the highgun prize, by one shot from Mike Walker, with Nigel Kelly third (131).

Juan Cowley (118) was the winner of Class B from Rob Marshall (117) and Arthur Hayes (104).

Arthur Stepka took Class C by four points (118) from Corina Clague with Brian Faragher (111) third.

Nigel Moffat won the fourth and final round of the Pro Fab Welding ABT league from Wade and Mark Riley.
