Manx Telecom is continuing its drive to strengthen the company’s rapidly growing Global Solutions division with the appointment of Amy Pointon as an Account Manager. This latest appointment is part of an ongoing recruitment campaign for the division which markets the company’s portfolio of smart SIM solutions worldwide. These solutions are designed for strategic partners and resellers who provide connection critical, M2M (machine to machine), and MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) solutions to their clients. Manx Telecom is the market leader for strongest signal mobile connectivity in the UK where there are around 150,000 active customers already using the company’s Chameleon SIMs, including emergency services, security services, vets, agriculture, lone workers, telehealth and VIPs.
Amy, who has a Batchelor of Arts degree in politics and economics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, joins the Island’s leading communications company from Microgaming where she worked for three years, firstly as an Accounts Co-ordinator, and then as an Accounts Manager. Earlier in her career, Amy was an Accounts Officer at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement. Commenting on her appointment, she said: “I am looking forward to growing and extending Manx Telecom’s relationships with its current partners, whilst also looking for new growth areas for the Chameleon product. Chameleon has multiple benefits to Manx Telecom’s partners in the UK with some truly innovative applications across a wide range of sectors.”
As Account Manager her role will be to manage and develop exceptional customer account relationships, predominantly within the mobile virtual network arena. Her appointment further strengthens the Global Solutions team which in recent months has seen Paul Keen appointed as Senior Global Solutions Manager, Simon Taylor as Business Development Manager, and Mitchell Fordham as an Account Manager. Manx Telecom Human Resources Director John McChesney said that all of these recent appointments are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in people with the experience and skills required to enhance its position as a world class communications provider. Tom Meageen, Head of Manx Telecom's Global Solutions business, added: “We’re delighted to have Amy on board. It’s a really exciting time for Manx Telecom as we continue to grow our business off-Island. Amy comes with a wealth of account management experience and complements the growing team of account managers in the Global Solutions division.”
