The Children’s Centre’s off-road triathlon GraniteMann is back again this year and the date of Sunday 2 October is confirmed, thanks to the on-going support of sponsors PwC.
Last year 120 competitors swam, cycled and ran the routes at the Cringle Reservoir either as individuals or as a team, and Lisa Motley from The Children’s Centre would like to see even more men and women come forward this year. She said:
“Entries are restricted to 40 teams and 60 solo participants, and The Children’s Centre is delighted to announce that entries can now be accepted, so I hope it will fill up quickly. And entering is easy – just go online here.”
And Andrew Dunn from PwC agreed: “This is a phenomenal event, attracting seasoned triathletes, fell runners and mountain-bikers, as well as those who want to test themselves against a pretty brutal terrain. PwC has been involved with The Children’s Centre for many years, and has sponsored GraniteMann since the beginning. By confirming our sponsorship now, entrants will have more time to train, and, crucially, more time to raise more money for this very worthy cause.”
Last year, competitors raised ?3,700 and Lisa Motley is thrilled. “PwC generously covers all the costs associated with GraniteMann, therefore all the money raised goes to supporting our charitable projects so as well as the physical trial we’d like entrants to throw themselves into the additional challenge of raising funds for The Children’s Centre. We need ?9,800 per week to run our charitable services, and events like this play a huge part in our fundraising.”
Online entry for GraniteMann 2016 is now open, for more information and sponsorship forms please contact Lisa Motley on 01624 676076 now, or sponsor forms can be downloaded from The Children’s Centre website www.thechildrenscentre.org.im.
