Contracts ultimately cost government income

A union boss says the issue of zero-hours contracts needs to be addressed in Eddie Teare's next budget.

The Treasury Minister will set-out his plans for the final budget of this administration a week on Tuesday (Feb 16).

Eric Holmes of Unite believes the private sector is sometimes reluctant to provide workers with more than 16 hours a week.

He thinks it's a loophole that is costing the government.
