Leading trust and corporate services provider Equiom has been named ‘Company of the year: Female Leadership (Large, Institutional)’ at the Powerwomen Awards 2016.
The awards ceremony, held at London’s Grange City Hotel on Wednesday, 3 February, saw Equiom compete against other renowned organisations. This achievement follows the success of Equiom’s CEO, Sheila Dean, at last year’s awards, where she was named ‘Woman of the Year: Leadership’ in the professional services category.
Sheila commented: ‘It is an honour to accept this award on behalf of the Equiom Group. I am proud that female directors make up a large percentage of Equiom’s various boards across its global offices. This has occurred naturally through a combination of direct recruitment and acquisitions and is testament to our focus on achieving the right balance of skills, knowledge, philosophy and experience in our teams, regardless of gender. Career progression in Equiom is unequivocally based on an individual’s ability to fulfil the objectives of their role and this philosophy will continue to be reflected in our culture.’
The Powerwomen Awards were established in 2014 to highlight the female leaders of today and tomorrow and spotlight individuals and companies who support care-giving responsibilities and female leadership, and celebrate diversity.
The win follows Equiom’s recent success at the Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards in January, where it was named ‘Trust Company of the Year (Isle of Man)’ for the second year running, and was runner-up in the Guernsey and Hong Kong categories.
