Kimberley Crellin admits charges after appearing in court

A Douglas woman’s been warned she’ll go to jail if she appears in court again accused of more crimes against police.

Kimberley Louise Crellin of Farmhill Meadows in Douglas admitted assault, being drunk and disorderly and resisting police when she appeared in court this week.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes was told all of the offences were committed on December 22 after she’d intervened in a row at the Hilton Hotel and Casino.

The court heard she had three previous convictions for assaulting or resisting police.

Crellin, aged 24, had three previous convictions in the past five years but her advocate told the court she’d matured.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also heard Crellin had now found work as a trainee dental nurse and had problems with alcohol and her attitude towards police officers.

She placed Crellin on probation for two years and ordered her to pay £250 compensation to her victim and £208 costs.

Crellin will also have to meet police officers face to face to apologise as part of her sentence.
