Beach Buddies is teaming up with 60 rugby players this weekend for a special event as members of Ramsey RUFC join forces with the charity on Saturday morning.
The club has organised the event, with the support of Beach Buddies, whose volunteers are also joining in the session from 12.15pm, followed by refreshments afterwards for everyone in the rugby club.
"This is a first for Beach Buddies to team up with a rugby club, so we are really looking forward to the day," said a spokesman for Beach Buddies.
Jasper Corkill of Ramsey RUFC said, "Things are coming together for the beach clean in Ramsey; sponsor forms are out we have a dozen mums baking cakes and the first team play in the semi final of the cup that afternoon. It's going to be a great day."
Beach Buddies will provide all the necessary equipment for the event, including litter pickers, gloves and bin bags and will dispose of the material collected afterwards, recycling where possible.
Regular Beach Buddies volunteers are warmly welcomed to join in the event and are invited by the club to enjoy the refreshments afterwards in the clubhouse.
