There was another excellent turn-out at Onchan on Sunday. The round of the day was a WA18, with the Seniors shooting a 3 spot and the Juniors shooting a single face target. This was the last chance for the archers to get some practice in over a full shooting distance before the Club Championships on the 7th of February.
Rhys Moore dominated in the Gents Compound division finishing 19 points ahead of nearest rival Pete Mumford, with Colin Moore a further 10 points back in third.
Joy Gough was on her own in the Ladies Compound division and again had an unexpected miss.
The largest field of the day occurred in the Gents Recurve. John Hill and Alex Parkes both put in personal best scores for the round but had to settle for fifth and sixth place respectively. Josh Trafford suffered a miss but still finished 28 points ahead of his nearest rival Danny Cowin who was the only gent to keep all of his arrows on target. Tony Hartley had a couple of misses but finished well ahead of Dave Berry who had twelve misses in total.
In the Ladies Bare bow, Lesley Sleight was once again on form, smashing the club record she set earlier in the season by 56 points. The new record for the WA18 Bare bow now stands at 60/424/3.
In the Junior Boys division all the archers posted personal best scores for the round. Toby Young came out on top 52 points ahead of James Hill who suffered a handful of misses. William Parkes took third some way ahead of Jacob Brookes in fourth and Aaron Pannell-Cottier in fifth.
In spite of recording a miss, Tilly Ashton posted a personal best score for the round in the Junior Girls division.
