Rea's WSBK title hailed on home soil

World champ visits First Minister on his bike

Castletown resident and Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea has had his achievements recgnised 'back home'.

He's been to Stormont in Northern Ireland, to meet with First Minister Arlene Foster.

Rea even took his championship-winning Kawasaki Ninja with him, taking it into the parliament building itself.

It was organised by Member of the Legislative Assembly Gordon Dunne – a motorsport enthusiast -who was joined by the First Minister as they congratulated Rea.

She described Rea's championship win as a remarkable achievement, adding he was a fantastic ambassador for the country.
