Still time to attend a DHSC roadshow

by isleofman.com 1st February 2016
Members of the public still have the opportunity to attend a roadshow to hear about the Island’s new health and social care strategy and help shape its delivery.

The final two roadshows take place on Monday 1 February at Queen Elizabeth II High School starting at 7pm, and on Wednesday 3 February at the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education, starting at 3pm.

The health and social care strategy, which was approved by Tynwald at its October 2015 sitting, will guide the work of the Department of Health and Social Care over the next five years.

The roadshows are part of the Department’s efforts to engage the community as it develops its plans for the 2016/17 financial year. It also gives the public the opportunity to put forward their ideas and suggestions about what is most important to them in this first phase.

Minister for Health and Social Care, Howard Quayle MHK, said: “I have been very encouraged by the feedback and comments we have received at the roadshows. Of course we have a great deal of work to do, but I think people appreciate us talking frankly about the challenges we face, our ideas for addressing these, and for giving them the opportunity to help shape how we go forward.

“It’s really important that we hear from as many people as possible, and I would repeat my call to encourage everyone to try to attend one of our two remaining events.”

Anyone who would like further information about the roadshows can contact the Department by telephone on 642625 or by emailing dhsc@gov.im.
