Council didn't fight hard enough to keep horse trams

Consultation needed says councillor

A Douglas councillor believes there should have been a public consultation over the future of horse tram service.

A working party has been set up to see if the service can be retained in one form or another after Douglas Corporation said it was no longer 'financially viable' to continue operating the trams.

Stephen Pitts voted against the local authority budget this week, partly because he felt his colleagues made a rash decision without involving other bodies and the wider public.
