Northern bragging rights for Ramsey

Ramsey climb out of bottom two

Ramsey have moved out of the relegation zone and secured the northern bragging rights in the process.

That’s after a 2-0 win over Ayre in the northern derby at Ballacloan.

Kris Druggan and Robbie Callister grabbed the goals on a fine day for the hosts.

Union Mills are now in the bottom two and went down 7-0 at champions St George’s.

Skipper Frank Jones (two), Ciaran McNulty (two), Chris Bass, Callum Morrissey and Connor Doyle were on target as the Geordies moved six points clear at the summit of the Canada Life Premier League.

Steven Glover scored a goal in each half as St Mary’s sealed their best result of a troubled season.

He fired the Saints to a 2-0 win at Rushen, who slip out of the top three and have been replaced by Laxey.

That’s because the Miners overcame the spirited challenge of Marown.

Ashley Heginbotham’s early goal put the home side in front, a lead restored by Juan Killip after Johnny Shields had briefly equalised.

However, Laxey upped the gears with Sean Gavin, Darryl Haslett and Michael Fernandez (two) adding to the scoreline in a 5-2 success.
