Newby's robbery: man appears in court

Accused remanded in custody

A Douglas man has appeared before magistrates charged with stealing around £1,000 from a convenience store.

The charge is in relation to an incident on November 3, last year, when a lone female shop attendant at Newby's on Glen Falcon Road was threatened with a lit firecracker.

Jamie Christopher Hall, 25, of Victoria Street in Douglas, is also accused of burgling a site office at Billown Quarry in 2013.

Mr Hall has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on February 4, after being refused bail.
