Commissioner backs 'tax haven' views

Claims avoidance is commonplace

A commissioner has voiced his support for Lib Vann member Cat Turner, after she labelled the Island a 'tax haven'.

Ms Turner drew criticism from her party's leader for the remarks, made on a BBC documentary last week.

But Braddan Commissioners' chairman Andrew Jessop echoed her viewpoint, adding that tax avoidance and fraud are commonplace.

Mr Jessop also believes regulations to increase transparency are little more than government 'propaganda':
