60mph Gales expected to bring problems

The Steam Packet Company is warning of possible disruption to its services tomorrow – with bad weather forecast for the Island.

The company says the Douglas to Heysham 8.15am sailing tomorrow is threatened by the poor conditions, as is her return journey at 2.15pm.

The Met Office says tomorrow morning gale or severe gale force south to southwesterly winds are expected, with gusts of up to 60 or 70 miles per hour.

Later in the day, there’s also a warning about heavy rain which could bring localised flooding - and the afternoon high tide may see waves breaking over exposed roads.
