School becomes one of just 54 to win award

Teaching children to ponder the bigger questions has paid off for an Island school.

Andreas Primary School has become one of only 54 British institutions to receive a Philosophy 4 Children award for its approach to learning.

Introducing pupils as young as 4 to different ways of thinking - through discussion of art, literature and music - has been shown to have major developmental benefits.

Headteacher Rachel Ashley says it's an unconventional approach:
