Leading fleet services provider UK Fuels has teamed up with World Cup gold medal snowboarder Zoe Gillings-Brier to drive her journey to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
UK Fuels is providing Zoe with the fuel to power her through her elite training programme across several countries as the intensity builds in the lead-up to 2018.
Zoe, 29, who was born in the Isle of Man, is Britain’s most decorated snowboard cross athlete of all time, with seven World Cup podiums, including one gold medal, already under her belt. She is aiming to build on her success as a multiple European Cup winner as she looks towards her fourth Winter Olympics.
The snowboarding star makes no secret of the fact her medal winning performances are the product of a carefully honed training regimen.
Zoe said: “This partnership is going to be a great help to my training and competition programme. The varied nature of my practice regime means that I am travelling a lot between snow and off-snow locations, and knowing that UK Fuels will be helping me get from A to B takes a lot of financial worries away and means I can focus on the slopes and hopefully shave precious time off my results.”
Zoe’s preparations each year get underway long before she pushes through the first competition start-gate, beginning in summer at a specialised fitness centre in Leeds before travelling with her team to a high-altitude glacier in Europe and heading into competition season.
Group Marketing Director at UK Fuels, Jakes de Kock, said: “We have been tremendously impressed by the success that Zoe has achieved in her career so far and are delighted to be playing a part in, hopefully, sending her towards further sporting glory.
“Success in sport comes on the back of talent, hard work, dedication and commitment along with an unswerving attention to detail. It is an area where small margins can make big differences.
“It’s the same in business and that’s why we constantly refine our services to enable our customers to run their transport operations at maximum efficiency and effectiveness and give them the edge over their competitors.”
