by isleofman.com 21st January 2016

Town commissioner of 40 years, Robbie Cooil has died

A big man with a big heart!

That’s one of the tributes paid to a Port St Mary stalwart who has passed away.

Robbie Cooil, who farmed at Ballacreggan, was well known in the village both for his support of good causes and his time as a Port St Mary commissioner.

He recently stood down after 40 years on the board, including five spells as chairman.

Current chairman Bernadette McCabe says he’ll be greatly missed by the community.
