by isleofman.com 20th January 2016

Rossborough has strengthened its personal lines, commercial and private client offering with the appointment of three employees with extensive customer service and sales experience.

Bryan O’Connor has joined the commercial team as senior account handler, while Simon Colquitt has been appointed manager of Rossborough Private Clients in the Isle of Man. Michael Sheeley has also joined the personal lines team as a household, motor and travel insurance broker.

Rossborough’s managing director, Tim Rattray, has been impressed with the contribution that the new employees have made since joining the business, commenting:

‘Simon, Bryan and Michael have a wealth of experience and skills from a variety of industry sectors. They have a fantastic knowledge of Rossborough’s local market and, more importantly, an intricate understanding of what is required to deliver exceptional customer service to islanders.’

Mr Colquitt has a range of sales and customer service experience, including recruitment and relationship management roles at HSBC International and Natwest International. At HSBC International he led a team of 18 staff looking after high net worth expats and inpat Premier clients. In his new role Mr Colquitt will draw on his depth of customer service knowledge and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with Rossborough’s established book of high net worth clients.

Mr O’Connor started his career in insurance in 2009 at Marsh, after a successful career in the financial services sector. In 2011 he set up and managed the insurance brokerage of a local independent financial advisers firm. Mr O’Connor joined Rossborough in June 2015 and holds the Diploma in Insurance, and is currently working towards Chartered Insurance Broker status. At Rossborough he manages the insurance profiles of a wide range of businesses, both local and further afield. His new role involves using his local business knowledge to advise on the placement of complex insurance programmes for Rossborough’s commercial clients.

Mr Sheeley has a background in sales and customer service, having worked for Manx Telecom within the finance department, and then in sales at HSBC International and Bradford and Bingley International. He spent time working for the NHS in Bolton, where he progressed to sit on the board of directors at Bolton Community Practice CIC as Staff Advisory Chairman. He also looked after the Bolton Violent Patient Scheme, where he developed a passion for looking after the needs of vulnerable adults and children. In his new role Mr Sheeley deals with sales and customer service for household, motor and travel insurance clients.

‘Simon, Bryan and Michael have already contributed hugely to their respective teams. I am delighted to welcome all three to the business and, in particular, I would like to congratulate Michael on his achievement of breaking the personal lines sales record in his first month at the business,’ added Mr Rattray.

Outside of work, Mr Colquitt is an avid golfer and travelling enthusiast. Mr O’Connor is president of the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man and is a rugby fan. Mr Sheeley is a keen sportsman and rugby enthusiast. He has represented the Isle of Man at a number of sports and holds youth training certificates in rugby and hockey.
