Man admits possessing up to ?20,000-worth of cannabis

Sentencing due at the end of the month

A man’s appeared in court accused of possessing almost one and a half kilogrammes of cannabis worth up to £20,000.

Paul Anthony Mccormick, whose address was given as Jurby prison, admitted possessing the drug with intent to supply in Port Grenaugh on November 15 last year.

The 26-year-old made no bail application and was remanded in custody.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said her sentencing powers were insufficient to deal with the case – and he’ll appear next at a Court of General Gaol Delivery on January 29 for sentencing.
