VAT talks should reach conclusion soon - Teare

Treasury minister guarded on details for now, though

The Treasury minister says an agreement on VAT levels should reach a conclusion in "the not too distant future".

On Tuesday, Eddie Teare told Tynwald members VAT added to online sales will be included in talks.

 

He was responding to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran regarding updating VAT sharing arrangements to reflect the rapid growth of internet shopping.

 

Mr Teare said he hoped the deal would be sorted out soon, but refused to be drawn on the details of any discussions:
