Webcam scam warning

Don't leave yourself 'exposed', say police

Men in the Isle of Man are being urged to not leave themselves exposed to a scam which police say is doing the rounds again.

Women from off-Island are attempting to befriend them online, via webcams, apparently to start up a genuine relationship.

During this contact, the men are encouraged to exchange naked videos and pictures.

Some time later they will be contacted and told the images will be put online locally unless money is handed over.

Police say in the first instance, do not send any photos or videos.

Do not respond to any requests to send money.

If you have any concerns, call the police on 631212.
