The children’s hospice Rebecca House is a member of a UK-based organisation called Together for Short Lives. As part of this membership they will take part in a fundraising and awareness campaign called Ready To Roll which involves the use of a purple Rolls Royce being on the Island for a week between 14th-21st March 2016.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Together for Short Lives are behind this exciting campaign to help children and families get the care and support they need today and tomorrow. Rolls-Royce have very generously donated the use of a Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II (branded in Together for Short Lives deep purple) to Together for Short Lives for a period of 12 months from June 2015 – June 2016.
The purple Rolls-Royce visiting various children’s palliative care services across the UK. Each children’s service that takes part in the rally will have a dedicated period of time with the Rolls-Royce (at least one week), where they will aim to raise significant funds and local awareness.
The car comes complete with a local driver who will be a chauffeur for the trips out. So we are asking you what you would like to do with this beautiful vehicle? Is it someone special’s birthday? Do you fancy getting dropped off at the airport or picked up? Are you going to see Oklahoma at the Gaiety? Why not ring us up and make a reservation which will include a lovely donation to Rebecca House. Half of the final amount raised goes to Together for Short Lives. www.readytoroll.org.uk.
There are approximately 49,000 children and young people living in the UK and Isle of Man with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Together for Short Lives supports the 53 UK children’s hospice services and many other children’s palliative care services helping families. This is your chance to be driven in style, wherever you are going, for a bit more than a taxi fare! The car will hold 3 adults. To make your reservation during this week of 14th -21st March please Amy at Hospice’s Fundraising team on 647433 or email amy.davenport@hospice.org.im.
Amy explained: “It is a beautiful vehicle and will definitely make the passengers feel like a celebrity during their time of use.”
