Tynwald sits for the first time in 2016 tomorrow, Tuesday, 19th January, with a packed agenda.

There are 17 questions for oral answer and a further 2 for a written reply covering a variety of local topics.

Last year's flooding is to be raised by Douglas South member, Bill Malarkey, who is keen to ask both the Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture and the Chairman of the Manx Utilities Authority as to the priority being given to the installation of a flood defence system around the rivers of the NSC and Hills Meadow to prevent a repeat of the flooding as well as plans for maintenance work to the rivers around that area.

Ramsey member, Leonard Singer, will quiz the Minister for Infrastructure over the contract awarded for the demolition of the Laxey bridge and the bus removal.

Member for Peel, Ray Harmer wants to ask the Minister for Economic Development what assistance is available from the Enterprise Development Fund for regeneration of areas outside Douglas, such as Peel, Ramsey and the south?

Onchan member, Peter Karran, is to raise concerns about the safety of phone masts, and whether all masts have to go through the planning process?

Looking forward to a big event in this year's financial calendar, Member for Douglas West Chris Thomas is to ask the Chairman of the Tynwald Management Committee whether video broadcasting of any part of the 2016 budget debate will be allowed?
