Unemployment to keep rising - chief minister

Sharp rise in December's figures

Chief Minister Allan Bell says unemployment is likely to continue rising on the Island.

It's after December's figures showed a sharp rise of 75 in the number of those out of work: up almost 10 per cent on November's figure.

Mr Bell says numbers tend to rise in December, and more people are being found fit for work and moved from sickness to unemployment benefits.

He says it's a trend that seems likely to continue:
