Appleby, one of the world’s leading offshore law firms, will be represented at a major gaming conference next month.
ICE Totally Gaming 2016 is being held at ExCeL, London, from 2-4 February, and is expected to attract more than 24,000 visitors, with 500 exhibitors from 133 countries due to attend. Organisers say this year’s ICE conference will have the largest attendance of international regulators in the event’s history.
Representing Appleby’s Isle of Man office will be Claire Milne, partner in the Corporate department and Isle of Man Team Leader for the Telecommunications & Technology and Intellectual Property teams.
Claire is a highly respected figure in the gaming community, serving as Chair of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission from 2007 to 2012 and being appointed as a full general member of the International Masters of Gaming Law in 2014.
Claire will meet delegates at the Isle of Man Government stand at ICE, assisting other leading figures from the Island’s eGaming industry to promote the Isle of Man as a centre of excellence.
She said: ‘ICE is a major event in the gaming industry calendar and a chance to explain to existing operators and related companies, as well as start-up businesses, the benefits and attractions of the Isle of Man.
‘As ever, there are important issues for the industry to consider this year, and I expect topics like the potential impact of changes to licensing regimes and the consolidation of operators worldwide to be high on the agenda.
‘This exhibition is an opportunity to explain more about the Island’s unique offering, including its highly-respected licensing regime, player protection mechanisms and the professional services available to operators considering the Isle of Man as a place to do business.’
